In the second September session of our e-Learning series, participants will learn how to protect their assets and plan for a secure retirement.
This session will be co-provided by Momiji Health Care Society and Japanese Social Services (JSS).
What is this session about?

Planning for a secure and comfortable retirement involves more than saving money. It is important to think about how to protect, use, and transfer your assets. This seminar will provide easy-to-understand information on government benefits, investment basics, asset protection, and wealth transfer.
We will also discuss how to organize your financial information in preparation for a Power of Attorney (POA) and how to plan ahead for long-term care costs. Participants will leave with practical tips to help them better manage and protect their finances.
Topics include:
Government Benefits for Seniors – CPP, OAS, GIS, and tax considerations
Investment Basics – Understanding different types of investments and choosing options based on your goals
Asset Management & POA Preparation – Organizing banking, investment, and insurance information
Preventing Financial & Real Estate Fraud – Practical STOP, CHECK & TALK strategies
Using Home Equity – Options and important considerations
Planning for Long-Term Care Costs
Wealth Transfer – Common blind spots and how to avoid them
About our Guest Speaker

Makoto Kai, CPA, CFA, MBA | Life Insurance Licensed (Financial Broker / Co-Founder, Clarity & Co. Financial)
With over 20 years of experience in Corporate Finance in both Japan and Canada, Makoto has extensive experience in corporate finance, budgeting, and business strategy. As a Financial Broker, she now support individuals and families with financial planning, including wealth building, insurance, retirement planning, and estate planning.
Guided by the motto “Clarity in Money, Clarity in Life,” Makoto is committed to making financial information easier to understand and helping people feel more confident about their future and work toward financial freedom. She also provides business consulting services, based on her extensive experience in Corporate Finance.
How to Attend
Anyone interested can attend but pre-registration required. Click the registration button below, and fill and submit it before the session date. If you have difficulty using online registration system, feel free to contact the hosting agency.

Those who registered, will receive an invitation email with the Zoom link and ID/Passcode, by a day before the session date from the hosting organizations. Check your junk box if you can’t find it in your inbox – Email us if you don’t see it anywhere.
【Caution!】
1. Auto-email (to confirm what you filled) right after registration
You will receive a confirmation email from the system right after you “Submit” your form (this receipt does not contain the Zoom URL). Make sure to type correct email of yours. If you don’t see it, check your junk folder first, then contact JSS / Momiji.
2. Your Zoom display name should be recognizable to the host
Upon joining, please display your name on Zoom in ways we recognize that you registered. For example, instead of using nicknames or initials, include your first and/or last (e.g. Hanako Y, H. Yamada, Hanako Yamada) . We may not be able to allow you to enter for security purposes if we can’t recognize your name. We’ll show you how to change the display name 5 minutes before the session start.

**Please note that we most likely can’t help you connecting Zoom on the day of the seminar due to limited staffing. We encourage you to book us for the separate practice prior to the seminar date.
